Puppet Collab Brings Playfulness to Prevention With New "i love boobies!" Release

Summer is here, and so is KAB’s new i love boobies! collection. Our latest drop brings even more bold color, creative spirit, and joy with adorable friends to help us share our message: puppets!

In our collaboration with the talented team at Viva La Puppet, we’re taking a fresh, artful approach to spreading our core message: breast cancer prevention and early detection can save lives.

This partnership is part of our ongoing mission at Keep A Breast to use creativity, art, and an against-the-grain approach to break down barriers around conversations about breast health.

Our newest campaign proves that health education doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating. Sometimes, it can look like fun with a powerful message stitched right in.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve always been captivated by the magic of puppets,” Keep A Breast Founder Shaney Jo Darden says. “Shows like Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and Pee-wee’s Playhouse sparked something in me, something bright, colorful, and full of heart... I was inspired by how puppets can communicate big, important messages in ways that feel joyful, safe, and surprisingly deep.

Why Puppets? Why Now?

At Keep A Breast, we know that traditional health education doesn’t always reach young people effectively. That’s why we’ve spent the last 25 years creating alternative paths to awareness, using art, technology, and cultural relevance to connect with people where they are.

With puppetry as a medium, we’ve found a joyful, disarming way to talk about topics that can sometimes feel heavy—like breast cancer in young women, how to check yourself, and what early detection really means.

“The opportunity to bring awareness to breast health with puppets is a collaboration I’ve been daydreaming about for years… Turning sorrow into hope means being proactive about my own breast health,” Viva La Puppet’s Director Michelle Zamora said. “Turning hope into joy means spreading the KAB message into the world through my passion for puppets.”

This campaign is deeply personal. Everyone involved brought lived experience and genuine heart to the project, from survivorship stories to family journeys and community impact.

“My aunt was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and thankfully, is now in remission…” Puppeteer and hand model Ashleigh Rucker said. “Participating in this campaign is a way to honor her journey and center women of color along the way.”

“As a photographer, I love to be able to lend my skills to a worthy cause that affects so many women all over the world…” Photographer Nina Hamm said. “I hope the images we’ve created help to inspire, delight, and prevent breast cancer by highlighting KAB’s important role in promoting early detection.

Shop the Drop, Support the Mission

Our new merchandise drop features exclusive i love boobies! colorways and playful new designs that help fund our breast health education programs and free breast self-exam mobile app. Every purchase supports our efforts to reach more young people with education on how to do a chest self-check.

While it's not always comfortable to confront the unknown when it comes to checking your chest, ultimately, we hope that in building this healthy habit, young people can move forward with confidence and an understanding of how to reduce their risk.

“As you start traveling down the road of life, remember this: There are never enough comfort spots,” Sesame Street’s Kermit the Frog says. “The places you’re going are never on the map.”

And that’s ok! Life is uncomfortable–but remember, awareness starts with action. We’re here for you!

Together, we can normalize conversations around breast cancer early detection, while inspiring a generation to know their bodies and take action.

Your purchase helps us continue reaching people worldwide with breast health education. Thank you for your support!
