We’re Awarding 100K in Grants to BIPOC Women!

our Give Back Grant application Cycle 4 is now open

It’s back! We’re excited to announce that our Give Back Grant application Cycle 4 is now open for all U.S.-based BIPOC women breast cancer survivors, as well as BIPOC women recently diagnosed and/or currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Apply now, we are accepting applications through November 1, 2023.

This program has grown exponentially each year since its inception in 2020. We are proud to have awarded 747 grants, totaling $373,500 to the BIPOC women’s survivor community, to date.

This is made possible in part through the generous support of the Clara Lionel Foundation, Savage x Fenty, The Hello In There Foundation and The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

The Keep A Breast Give Back Grant (GBG) directly supports BIPOC women who are breast cancer survivors or have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

WHY WE CREATED THE GIVE BACK GRANT PROGRAM

Our GBG program was created to get funds directly into the hands of women who need it without any red tape or lengthy application processes because we know financial stress during cancer makes a difficult time that much harder. We hope these grants provide just a little ease and love to this community.

WHY DOES THIS GRANT ONLY APPLY TO THE BIPOC SURVIVOR COMMUNITY?

Our Give Back Grant program seeks to acknowledge and lessen the health care gap for Black women, Indigenous women and People of Color. Black women, in particular, have historically seen higher mortality rates upon breast cancer diagnosis than White women–just one example of the need for awareness and support our GBG program seeks to provide.

To learn more about the disparity in health care from diagnosis to treatment, driven by decades of structural racism resulting in elevated poor health outcomes including death and advanced diagnoses, please visit our Black Women & Breast cancer resource page.

HOW CAN THE GRANTS BE USED?

The grants, which are gifted in the amount of $500 per eligible applicant, are meant to be used in whatever way BIPOC survivors and those currently undergoing breast cancer treatment, see fit. Business investment, health care costs, rent, groceries, travel, a spa day, a scar-covering tattoo, are all exactly how the organization hopes these funds will be used.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE GIVE BACK GRANT PROGRAM?

We would love to have you join us in giving back. Please visit our GBG donation page for details on how to donate or create your own fundraising page benefitting this program! 100% of the funds raised go directly to BIPOC breast cancer survivors and patients diagnosed and in treatment.
