Development Intern – Los Angeles, CA
Interested in working with Keep A Breast supporters on ways to help fundraise? Help us find new ways to reach out to young people and help our team to raise funds for our education and support programs!
The Development Department of Keep A Breast creates and implements the organization’s strategic development and fundraising efforts. As an intern, you will play an integral role in assisting the Director of Development as well as the core Keep A Breast Team.
This internship position will provide someone with substantial nonprofit development and management experience, including grant prospect research and writing, solicitation strategizing, measuring program outcomes, and Salesforce CRM.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist staff in account creation, opportunities and campaigns data entry and creation, and reporting building
Assist in historic data entry
Under guidance, assist in Salesforce customization and implementation
Research of potential Salesforce add-ons to improve staff efficiency and reporting tools
Assist in ensuring successful program measurements to prove both program impact and achievement of long-term goals and objectives
Assist in the creation of and strategy of program funding possibilities
Strategic partnerships and funding opportunities
Research potential grants possibilities that align within Keep A Breast’s mission
Draft attractive grant proposals (for general operating costs, programs support, and event sponsorship)
Solicitation strategy and activation
Assist in activating individual donor campaigns
Assist in managing and activating donor acknowledgment strategy
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Motivated and responsible individual looking to gain real-world experience of nonprofit work
Desire to learn more about fundraising and philanthropy
Critical/strategic thinking skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently but also with a team and a supervisor
Salesforce CRM knowledge a plus and/or a desire to learn how to customize and implement
Must be organized and reliable. Have access to your own computer equipment. Must be able to receive college credit. 3-month minimum, 8-10 hours per week (this is flexible), sometime between the hours of 10am – 5pm.
This is a volunteer unpaid internship. We encourage you to use this internship to gain course credit and/or to add this experience to your professional profile.

OFFICE VOLUNTEER – Los Angeles, CA
We are always looking for extra helping hands in our offices. Volunteers help out in various roles ranging from shipping Treasured Chest Program kits to breast cancer survivors, helping pack for local or summer events/tours like the Vans Warped Tour to assisting with organizing educational packs for fundraisers and events around the country.
SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT INTERN – Los Angeles, CA
Do you have a passion for social media? Interested in creating content and engaging KAB supporters? Social is a big part of how we reach young people and we need your help.
The purpose of the Social Media and Content intern is to assist the Marketing team with the strategy, management and content creation for all of Keep A Breast’s social media channels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work alongside the Marketing team to manage and maintain social media properties.
Assist with curating, creating and scheduling daily and weekly content for blog and social properties.
Assist creating social media strategy for new initiatives and events.
Engaging with Keep A Breast¹s audience with relevant day-to-day content
Assist with gathering and scheduling educational tips and facts
Help coordinate online blogs for keep-a-breast.org and nontoxicrevolution.org
Brainstorming and strategizing content for the latest initiatives
Researching, and writing content to publish across platforms
Facilitating necessary photo shoots for content creation
Research the latest emerging social media trends to further KAB reach
Be the KAB social media lead at local events and fundraisers
Must be organized and reliable. Have access to your own computer equipment. Must be able to receive college credit and commit to 2-3 times a week for 2-3 months.
