FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEContact: Keep A Breast and Macbeth Athletics Raise over $35,000 for Breast Cancer Youth Awareness Programs San Diego, CA, November 28, 2005—The Keep A Breast Foundation today announced it has raised over $35,000 in a celebrity online art auction this past October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The art pieces, plaster forms of the female torso painted by top musicians and artists, were also on display at the Stay Gold Gallery in New York and the LAB101 Gallery in Los Angeles. “We are so grateful for the tremendous turnout at the exhibitions,” said Keep A Breast founder Shaney Jo Darden. ““We’d also like to give special thanks to the galleries for their amazing generosity and support.” With an overwhelming amount of celebrity participation, the casts auctioned included Maya Ford of the Donnas, Burlesque star Dita Von Tess, pro surfers Lisa Anderson and Layne Beachley, the wives of No Doubt and more. Notable musicians such as Tom Delonge, the Foo Fighters, Taking Back Sunday, Switchfoot and members of No Doubt also contributed to the cause by decorating the one-of-a-kind pieces of art. The casts were shipped all over the world to places such as Japan, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. The top-selling cast sold for $8,600 and was painted by Tom Delonge, formerly of Blink-182, on the cast of his wife, Jennifer Delonge. Planet Earth and Adio Footwear employees also pooled their resources to buy the cast decorated by fine artist Ky Baker for $1,600; their company respectively matched the amount with a donation to the Keep A Breast Foundation. Other notable casts that raised over $2,000 featured renowned artist Shepard Fairey on his pregnant wife Amanda, and Caia Koopman on Maya Ford of the Donnas. All proceeds will go towards the Keep A Breast Youth Awareness Program, a breast cancer education and outreach program for teens and young adults. About The Keep A Breast Foundation:
