Keep A Breast Joins Forces with Roxy to Support Breast Cancer Research, Treatment and Prevention Programs
— Unique art auction events feature plaster casts of the world’s top female surfers—

March 1, 2005, San Diego, CA —Keep A Breast, a nonprofit breast cancer awareness campaign unlike any other, today announced it has joined forces with Roxy, a division of Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE: Z2K), the leader in women’s surfing and boardriding lifestyle, to raise consciousness and funding for breast cancer research, treatment and prevention programs. Through the Quiksilver Foundation, Roxy will be hosting international Keep A Breast fundraising benefits featuring plaster casts of the world’s top female surfers decorated by fine artists. These one-of-a-kind pieces showcase the beauty and strength of the female form, as well as the firm resolve necessary to conquer this disease.

The Quiksilver Foundation is the non-profit organization that manages Quiksilver and Roxy related charitable contributions. “We see our relationship with The Keep A Breast Foundation through the Roxy brand as integral to our corporate vision to support, enrich and ensure the successful and healthy living of women around the globe. Roxy is dedicated to women with individual expression, an adventurous spirit and a passionate approach to an active lifestyle,” said Kathie Armstrong, Executive Director, The Quiksilver Foundation.

The next Keep A Breast event will be held May 21-27 during Roxy Jam UK. Samantha Cornish, Megan Abubo, Layne Beachley, and Rochelle Ballard are among the Roxy team riders who will be immortalized in plaster. At Roxy Pro Hawaii in November 2004, over $22,000 was raised for the Kapiolani Breast Center and the Rell Sunn Fund. Veronica Kay’s torso painted by Roxy artist Alessandra Cabral was the top-selling cast. The two organizations also partnered for the inaugural Keep A Breast event at Roxy Surf Jam France last year.

“Roxy prides itself on their connection to the junior female customer; progressive yet embracing all elements of life. It is with this in mind that Roxy supports Keep A Breast, to fund breast cancer research, treatment and education for women of all ages,” said Randy Hild, Senior Vice President of Roxy.

In addition to fusing their creative resources to stage international events, Roxy and Keep A Breast may also collaborate on special promotional merchandise to help generate more widespread awareness about this important cause.

“The Roxy athletes are beautiful representations of positive self image and seen as role models by people all over the world,” said Shaney Jo Darden, founder of Keep A Breast. “By partnering with Roxy’s health-conscious team riders, we are sending a message that encourages young women to be aware of their bodies in a very empowering and relevant way.”

About The Keep A Breast Foundation:
