Keep A Breast Call for Grant Proposals

Do you know a forward-thinking individual or organization that needs funding for an innovative breast cancer research project?

The Keep A Breast Foundation (KAB) is awarding up to $100,000.00 in research grants to admirable organizations and individuals investigating breast cancer prevention, early detection and causes. KAB is particularly interested in environmental and lifestyle links to breast cancer, and seeks to support cutting-edge researchers whose efforts will make the world a cleaner, healthier and ultimately cancer-free place. Research projects may include new approaches to complementary and alternative care, innovations in green chemistry and studies of common toxins and breast cancer rates.

KAB wants to encourage others to help us spread the word about breast cancer prevention and early detection, including the importance of a healthy, toxin-free lifestyle, through our research grant program. “Our individual actions have more impact than most of us realize. In this fast paced world we live in, it is easy to forget to be our own leaders daily,” states Co-founder and CEO Shaney jo Darden. “Keep A Breast is looking for individual leaders and organizations that are taking a stand to make the world better and healthier for future generations.”

KAB has been awarded The Humane Charity Seal of Approval. We are committed to providing vital services and advancing research without the use of animals, and ask that only like-minded individuals and charities apply. We fund progressive research undertaken at a cellular level, using human tissue or through other techniques that do not require animal testing.

KAB research grants are driven by our mission and values, as well as our focus on concrete results that will increase long-term health and well-being worldwide. Applications must be submitted by October 15, 2012.

KAB research grants are open to the following applicants:

  1. Non-profit registered 501(c)(3) charity organizations and individuals dedicated to putting an end to breast cancer through positive impact.
  2. Keep A Breast has been awarded The Humane Charity Seal of Approval and is committed to providing vital services and advancing research without the use of animals and ask that only like-minded charities apply.

  12. Expected results (All grant recipients will be required to produce a results-oriented report card, with the option to renew grant if needed)

Applications must be no more than 2 pages in length (12 pt font preferred). The Keep A Breast Foundation grant committee will review all applications and you will be notified via email if you are being considered for a KAB grant. Grant committee will score and evaluate nominees in 5 areas:

  1. If applicant demonstrates a “spirit of change” in regards to Breast Cancer Research
  2. The project’s need for a fiscal boost
  3. The breadth of impact on community
  4. Expected outcome/deliverable
  5. Timeline for disbursement of funds
