  • KEEP A BREAST CAUSE MERCHANDISE

The majority of our support comes from our cause merchandise. The shirts and bracelets themselves act as an awareness-raising tool, allowing people to engage and start talking about a subject that is scary and taboo and making it positive and upbeat. The merchandise allows people to support KAB and engage in conversation with people that might be going through the same emotions they are feeling, whether that is body image, dealing with the diagnosis of a loved one, or their thoughts on cancer.

The shirts and bracelets have broken down many boundaries and become a way to engage in a conversation about breast cancer in countless schools, the media and probably in your own life. Each item is printed with our website which provides educational information and a way to connect to KAB to learn life saving information as-well-as connect with others. We love hearing from you! Especially your stories of how Keep A Breast has made a positive impact in your life.

You can find these all Keep A Breast Cause merchandise online at Loser Kids. In addition to online stores, Keep A Breast Cause Merchandise can be purchased from Zumiez, Tilly’s, CCS, Hospital waiting rooms and oncology rooms across America. We are grateful for their support and the opportunity to be available in their stores.

The funds raised from the sale of our cause merchandise goes to support Keep A Breast education and awareness programs. These unique programs use art and artistic expression to inform young people about methods of prevention, early detection, coping and support. Through these programs Keep A Breast strives to eradicate breast cancer by inspiring young people to adopt lifestyle choices that have long-term health benefits. Through this support we were able to have our grassroots Traveling Educational Booth on the road for a total of 251 days in 2010!

Keep A Breast strives to be on the forefront of prevention based cancer information. In 2010 we were able to give out breast cancer research grants to organizations interested in making a positive and lasting impact on breast cancer prevention including grants for Teens Turning Green, Environmental Working Group and a unique Green Janitorial Program for schools.

CAN I VOLUNTEER FOR THE ENTIRE SUMMER?

Unfortunately not, as much as we’d love to have a band of volunteers out all summer, as a non-profit we are unable to spend the money to house and transport volunteers all summer. (How awesome would that be though??!?!)

MY SCHOOL SAYS I CAN’T SUPPORT YOUR ORGANIZATION BY WEARING YOUR BRACELETS – WHAT DO I DO?

We have been seeing these bracelets become in question at several schools. It has been great to see students and parents and even Federal Court Judges rally behind Keep A Breast and become advocates for our cause. We always respond with what the bracelets represent and how important it is to respectfully tell your administrator why you support Keep A Breast.
So your school banned the bracelets? What can you do? Well, we can’t give you legal advice, and we can’t guarantee you won’t get in trouble for wearing one, but we can tell you what some amazing kids out there like you are doing.

I SAW “I LOVE BOOBIES” MERCHANDISE THAT WASN’T FROM YOU – DOES THE MONEY GO TO KAB?

Many of you have have been emailing us about products that look like Keep A Breast products.. But are sold at random places or look a little “off”. And unfortunately counterfeit products are being produced lately and the proceeds are not going to The Foundation. Sometimes products that being produced are purely for profit, without any money funding breast cancer prevention, awareness, support or research. Yes really!

The Keep A Breast foundation is the registered owner of the trademarks I Love Boobies and Keep A Breast Products. KAB products are sold to raise money for KAB’s programs and events and continue the mission to eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support.

The best way to insure that you are buying authentic product is to buy from an authorized retailer. Such as Zumiez, Tillys, Boathouse, Sun Diego and others. You should be able to spot them, as they will be carrying our educational materials.

The Keep A Breast product is also sold on tours like the Warped Tour and at Keep A Breast events such as the Music For Awareness events. Please see the calendar on our website for an official list of events. You can also ask the people putting on the event if the proceeds go to KAB and about KAB’s mission. If they do not know, it is likely not a KAB event.

If the event is not specifically for KAB, or a retailer than they are probably not authentic KAB gear. We never sell merchandise on eBay, on craigslist, or through promotional models just walking into a event or venue. Anytime KAB merchandise is sold, it’s always sold with our messaging, at our events.

But what can you do to help if you think you spot a counterfeit item?

  • - Purchase a sample of the fake item and send it to KAB
  • - Take photos of the fake items and email them to merch@keep-a-breast.org
  • - Email location of purchase, name and address of company and any other information to info@keep-a-breast.org.
  • - Ask them specifics, where did they get the merchandise? Can they provide a website to show information on where the money is going?

Thanks for your support, your donations help fund so many needed prevention and education programs. Through this support we were able to have our grassroots Traveling Educational Booth on the road for over 250 days in 2010 to be able to educate and inform you face to face as well as expanding all of our prevention, education and support programs domestically and internationally. You can learn more about all of our programs here on our programs page.

WHY DOES KEEP A BREAST MAKE “I LOVE BOOBIES” MERCHANDISE INSTEAD OF A PINK RIBBON?

The purpose of Keep A Breast’s “I Love Boobies!” Campaign is to speak to young people in their own voice about a subject that is often scary and taboo. Our t-shirts and bracelets act as an awareness-raising tool that speaks directly to our target audience in a way that is authentic, inspiring and refreshing. When breast cancer hits a family, all involved are impacted. Pink ribbons might not resonate with some youth as passionately as a foundation that works with artists, athletes, celebrities, and musicians that young people look up to. The Keep A Breast Traveling Education Booth goes to venues like music festivals, surf and skate contests to educate young people on their own turf. Learn more here.

I WOULD LIKE TO SELL KEEP A BREAST BRACELETS IN BULK TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANOTHER NON PROFIT – IS THIS POSSIBLE?

The majority of our support comes from our cause merchandise. We have Fundraising Kits for interested parties looking to raise money for KAB or other worthy non-profits available here. The fundraising kit includes 100 bracelets, a magazine with healthy living tips and support information, breast self exam cards and information on The Keep A Breast Foundation.

Many choose to purchase our fundraising kits to raise funds for breast cancer walks or other fundraising events by selling the bracelet at a higher donation price. If you wish to do this, please make it clear to your buyers that $3 of each bracelet is donated to The Keep A Breast Foundation.
