Michelle Murray – Community Activism
First of all, Michelle is always there for everyone else. She is a Rotarian and a big time volunteer for Keep A Breast Canada and has shown up to many festivals with a KAB booth to promote awareness and prevention of breast cancer. Most recently shecast the torso’s of local Sudbury women and celebrities that were auctioned off at an event at The Laughing Buddah to raise money for breast cancer research with a final tally of over $2,000. Another event was recently inspiried by her in Oshawa where a woman diagnosed with breast cancer raised over $6,000 through Michelle’s tutelage. Her tireless efforts have been found in Maclean’s magazine and in the ever popular I (Heart) Boobies bracelets. The best thing about it is when others do well in the cause it only drives her harder to make a difference with little thanks and a very swelled heart. We all could take a page out of Michelle’s book.
