Earlier in May, the Senate introduced Senate Bill 994, the Breast Cancer Education and Awareness Requires Learning (EARLY) Act of 2009. The House version (H.R. 1740) was introduced in April and has at least 300 cosponsors! Keep-a-Breast supports this legislation and are hopeful it will pass in the next few months.

The EARLY Act provides public education in women 45 years of age and younger about breast cancer; education for health care professionals about risk factors and challenges facing young women diagnosed with breast cancer; and offers grants to organizations that provide credible health information directed to young women diagnosed with breast cancer.
