"I'm so shy about my body. It was definitely a fear factor experience for me to have Shaney jo put plaster on my breasts.  Shaney jo was great though, I asked her to lift them up more. I said, "hey-don't make them look so droopy." Picking the Bouncing Souls to paint my cast was a no brainer.  We've known each other for many years and we're all from the NYC area.  Plus, Brian (the

bassist) is an excellent artist.  Not to brag, but the Souls had a lot of canvas to work with; they even fought about who would sleep with it. (it was painted in their tour van) It just seemed right.  We were on the Warped Tour together, so sure why not...sounds like fun and for a good cause.  Something I just never knew would have such an impact on me later on in my life.  It wasn't as meaningful to me then as it is now, to be honest.  I recently went through the scariest moment in my life, when I was being tested for breast cancer.  Had the attitude, it will never happen to me.  But looking back at this experience made me realize how important it is to become educated, to know, to be aware. KAB did that for me, I just didn't realize it back then but I'm glad I know it now.   So thank you!" - Carina Mescallado
