Amanda has a amazing story and we are so happy to have her want to throw a benefit for The Keep A Breast Foundation!! Amanda Lucas a 24 year old from Milford, MA shares her story:
” I’m a 3 time cancer survivor. I have a heart that is crying out to stop young adult and people in general to get themselves checked. Knowledge is the best weapon when it comes to cancer and prevention. I met KAB a few years back and they really listened to me, and got teary eyed when i told them my story.
I want to be a person that people know for surviving and doing something about their second chance (4th in my case) and without people like me there will be a lot more under 30 cases being diagnosed at a late stage like myself. ”

We are honored to be a charity on Social Vibe. Social Vibe believes that empowering people to leverage their influence online can create positive impact for themselves, their brands, and their communities. Thier site allows you to Get Sponsored by your favorite brands on your social profiles while earning points for the reward of your choice. Raising ‘points’ mean donation dollars for Keep A Breast. KAB and Social Vibe believe that making a real difference is possible without making a real difference to your bank account.
We were happy to be able to give out two sets of tickets to the Warped Tour Anniversary Movie. Here is a photo of one of our Vibers with her brother and best friend celebrating the night away.
We all know that exercise is one of the best ways to stay healthy. Flushing out your toxins from your lymph-nodes can only be achieved through exercise or lymph brushing… and as much fun as lymph brushing is (actually it feels really cool) surfing is admittedly way more fun. Don’t know how to ride… or want to check out boards specifically made for the ladies? Come on down to Oceanside for a free demo and and clinic.
Glue Network and Keep A Breast team up once again for the Imagine if.. Photography campaign.
This booth was set up at the KAB ASR booth 9/10/09-9/12/09. This is an interactive campaign that allows people to participate by sharing their feelings on what it would mean to them if… there was no cancer.
An interactive campaign designed by the Glue Network to inspire people to imagine a better world.
Imagine a world with no poverty, no cancer, or no homelessness!
Keep A Breast and Glamour Kills is bringing you a soiree to launch our collaboration of tees and bracelets for our October fund raising campaign at Zumiez starting October 1! Hope to see you there to get your first sneak peak of awesomeness.

“All of us at Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Diego, are inspired by Amanda’s story,” said Laura Farmer, executive director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Diego.
Being Diagnosed with Breast Cancer at age 27 was a challenge but being able to draw on my personal experience, I am now able to have a huge impact. My goal is to increase breast cancer awareness among young people and also encourage them to develop healthy habits that will benefit their long-term health and well-being. Working for Keep A Breast lets me interface with thousands of people and make a dramatic difference.

Bodkin wrote a great post on why buying organic is so important. Not only with things but fruits and veggies, but things you put on your body too. Bodkin is a women’s collection that functions as an ongoing exploration of the sustainability question—not only in materials and production methods, but also in aesthetic terms. Bodkin was named the inaugural recipient of the Ecco Domani Sustainable Design Award in 2009.
…. While we urbanites usually think about organic farming in terms of crops, it turns out animals themselves are also subjected to pesticides. Because it grows and regrows, wool is an inherently sustainable material—if the land is managed sensibly and cleanly. Unfortunately, in most parts of the world, it isn’t.
To control fleas and mites, sheep are sprayed with pesticides—14,000 pounds of them in the U.S. in 2000—and those chemicals affect humans and surrounding soil and water, too. According to the Organic Trade Association, “sheep dip,” as it’s called, is not only moderately toxic and a suspected endocrine disruptor (like parabens, the likely culprit for the recent rash of hermaphrodite fish and underdeveloped sex organs in baby boys), it has a long track record of causing nerve damage in workers exposed to it—with side effects including reduced bone formation, anxiety, and depression. Oh, and there’s probably some residue on your winter scarf.
