Come say hello to us at The Bamboozle Festival this weekend!! We are so excited for yet another festival to kick off summer! So many great bands playing! Make sure to come by and participate in our This Is My Story campaign by sharing your experience with breast cancer and how it has affected your life via video or written testimony. It is amazing how sharing your story can help others get through their hard times as well.
We will also have some new tee shirts and new hoodies along with our I Heart Boobies wristbands! Come pick one up to support the cause.
This weekend you can become an official Keep A Breast Member for only $15 dollars if you come sign up at the Keep A Breast tent! Look for our bright flags by the main stages. Kayla & I will be there along with various volunteers, Brittany, Jessi, Naomi & more!
Speakeasy Tiger closed out 2009 with an amazing Keep A Breast Music For Awareness show in Denver, Colorado. As a fan of theirs, I was super stoked to have them approach KAB to do an event to benefit the cause and educate their community and peers. They successfully raised $720 for the organization and created one of a kind pieces of art to help raise funds. The band will also be on the Vans Warped Tour this summer, so be sure to check them out! I have included some words from Kyle, the lead singer for the band below.

“The show was a wonderful experience. We created a really intimate setting for everyone to really take focus on why we were throwing the event. I am proud to say we reached our goal for KAB with the help of our dear friend Rachel Yarbrough, who created custom canvas pieces with the silhouette of a woman with lyrics from one of our songs “I can feel it in my chest”. We sold each one with the hope that everyone would walk away with a much deeper awareness on the truth’s of Breast Cancer. Making KAB apart of our music was especially important to me because my mother was diagnosed with cancer when I was 10. Watching Breast Cancer affect the ones you love from a personal level shows how dangerous it can be and how easily it can be prevented if you check yourself and stay in tune with your body. Our great friend Alicia Garrison went through a step by step process on how to check yourself for our audience to see. Not only were we engaged but everyone who attended was wonderfully receptive to the information being shared. I am so hopeful when I see programs like KAB available to young artists like ourselves. With influence comes great responsibility and we are so happy to have the ability to share with others through our music. I am excited for the future and excited to promote good health for all of us! Hi all you sneaker heads out there. I know we have been posting lately about our new collab with Pony Shoes but Sneaker Freaker Magazine got up close and personal with the Spanish Artist Pepa Prieto to find out how she went from decking out an MTV Airbus to Pepa-fying Pony.
Everyone always asks.. How can I help KAB here in my town? Here at KAB one of our ways of fundraising (and just something super awesome) is our collabs with different brands. This year so many amazing brands have came to us and said they wanted to support. One of them is Pony Shoes! We have worked super hard all year long to get these shoes out to you right in time for back to school.
So how can you help!? Buy a pair! Tell your friend to buy a pair! There are 5 styles so you can still stand apart from your friends while all of you support KAB!! After you and your friends go out and grab them up blog about it. Nylon Magazine did, Sneaker Freaker is all over them, Complex Mag.. Yep they loved em too, Ashley Greene of Twilight was even spotted grabbing a pair of KAB shoes! So what are you waiting for!!?!?!
