Keep A Breast’s was recently invited to the Zumiez 100k event. The 100k is a celebration in thanks to all employees that went above and beyond and sold over 100k that year. We can’t begin to thank zumiez for inviting KAB to the 100K event this year.

We had the most amazing experience, I can’t even put into words how amazing your employee’s are.
Moment after moment kids came up to me and treated me with such love and respect, they each thanked me for being there and for the work KAB is doing, each one had an experience to share with me on how beast cancer has effected their lives, from their mothers to sisters to girlfriends to aunts, many tears were shared. They all told me how they tell each customer about KAB and the foundation when they sell our bracelets, and what a crazy phenomena the bracelets have become in our stores. It was truly a humbling experience and I’m inspired to take everything to the next level this year.

Keep a breast is more than a brand it’s a non profit organization. By selling our products this year each and every Zumiez employee became an activist for KAB. They have spread our message of early detection and prevention and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for our education and outreach programs. For more photos please check out our flickr.

The Keep A Breast Foundation and the Residents of Brookdale Senior Living have teamed up together for a unique fundraising event offering residents, prospects, employees and their communities the chance to educate generations on breast cancer prevention.

To celebrate the success of these fundraisers we will hold our Generation Pink Gala and Auction on Jan 26th at Town Village Leawood in Kansas City KS from 4:00 -7:00 pm on Jan 27th Village at Skyline in Colorado Springs CO at 4:30 – 7:30pm and Jan 28th Heritage Club Denver in Denver CO from 4:00 -7:00 pm where customized breast casts will be auctioned off, including generational casts of grandmothers, mothers and daughters that have been affected by breast cancer, and Brookdale associates and residents that have been touched by breast cancer. The Generation Pink online breast casting auction will be hosted by Colorado Elders.com. The online auction is on and ends at the end of each event. Keep A Breast has developed a unique avenue for anyone to donate their time and influence the lives of their fans and so much more. As part of The Keep A Breast Music for Awareness Campaign, we are inviting anyone from to really step in and start making a difference.

You don’t have to be a musician to participate in MFA. This campaign will allow anyone to play a role with KAB and throw his or her very own benefit show in support of the cause like the Wild Women of Comedy are doing in NY.

We provide you with the necessary armor, Keep A Breast T-shirts for you to wear on stage, KAB banners to decorate around the club, stickers, breast self-exam shower cards to pass out, our logo to fit neatly in your flyer, and a big shout out to your event event on our website and facebook and myspace pages!

Speakeasy Tiger closed out 2009 with an amazing Keep A Breast Music For Awareness show in Denver, Colorado. As a fan of theirs, I was super stoked to have them approach KAB to do an event to benefit the cause and educate their community and peers. They successfully raised $720 for the organization and created one of a kind pieces of art to help raise funds. The band will also be on the Vans Warped Tour this summer, so be sure to check them out! I have included some words from Kyle, the lead singer for the band below.

“The show was a wonderful experience. We created a really intimate setting for everyone to really take focus on why we were throwing the event. I am proud to say we reached our goal for KAB with the help of our dear friend Rachel Yarbrough, who created custom canvas pieces with the silhouette of a woman with lyrics from one of our songs “I can feel it in my chest”. We sold each one with the hope that everyone would walk away with a much deeper awareness on the truth’s of Breast Cancer. Making KAB apart of our music was especially important to me because my mother was diagnosed with cancer when I was 10. Watching Breast Cancer affect the ones you love from a personal level shows how dangerous it can be and how easily it can be prevented if you check yourself and stay in tune with your body. Our great friend Alicia Garrison went through a step by step process on how to check yourself for our audience to see. Not only were we engaged but everyone who attended was wonderfully receptive to the information being shared. I am so hopeful when I see programs like KAB available to young artists like ourselves. With influence comes great responsibility and we are so happy to have the ability to share with others through our music. I am excited for the future and excited to promote good health for all of us! A few months back we told you that our very own Erica “baby e” Leite was chosen for the The Electra Way to Roll campaign – a movement that celebrates individuals around the globe who are taking action to make the world a better place through environmental conservation, social aid, education and artistic expression.

For this show, Dungbeetle Creative brings that blend of art & commerce together in the work of world-renowned photographer, Art Brewer of captured moments including point-and-shoot favorites from Art’s personal collection, as well as produced, commercial images from Electra Bicycle Company’s campaigns.

Opening Reception will feature hand-painted Electra Bicycles by artists Acamonchi Art, Blackass, Patrick Dennis, Brandon Lomax, and Jimmy C for auction to benefit the Keep A Breast Foundation’s education and outreach programs.

2009 was a great year for Keep A Breast thanks to you. You came out to our events, rallied by our side all year long, helping us spread our message to all your friends, families and anyone who would listen. You are all the face and spirit of Keep A Breast. Thank you all for your passion for our cause and caring enough to stand up and push change for your future. We are looking forward to 2010. We are starting out the year strong, with an ad that we placed in AP magazine with our friends at B4BC and Shirts for a cure, letting you all know that we stand as one to disagree about the recent recommendation from the U.S. preventative services task force. We are here for you, and we care about your health and are committed to bringing you the best and most current information and support that we can offer. In 2010 you will see us all over the world, we will be at our usual places like The Vans Warped Tour and Bambozzle, you will also see us at many other music festivals, surf, skate, and soccer events. We will be in Europe, Japan, Canada and Australia this year as well. Make sure to come say hi to us, learn how you can prevent breast cancer and live a healthy life.

This photo pretty much sums up the year for me. Look at these beautiful faces! I took this pic a few months ago at the Race for the Cure in San Diego. These amazing teenagers all came up to our booth and has a personal story to tell, they all bought matching bracelets to show their support. This is what’s it’s about for us. Love your boobies!
