Keep A Breast Europe (KABE) gives us the rundown

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Busy Month of October in Europe too !
Keep A Breast is very proud to announce the birth of its new babe : KABE (Keep A Breast Europe). Located in Biarritz the association will spray out overseas Keep A Breast’s word. From its birthdate KABE followed her godmother ROXY, whom was organizing exhibits and auctions of amazing casts all over Europe during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

First started East from Alps, with Christine Walther from Roxy Switzerland, we exhibited in Zurich, Lausane, Bern, and a massive finale at Zurich’s stadium during the Zurich Open. After that casts were been sold through an auction and money raised went to la Ligue Contre le Cancer du Sein Suisse. We’ll be able very soon to let you know how much has been raised.

Then let’s move to Spain, with Maider Eguskiza and Spanish artist who organized in Madrid an auction Federación Española de Cáncer de Mama. Finally Flor Trigueros and Solenne Antien put together a beautifull event in Paris on Le Café Barge, where over 16000 euros were raised for Le Cancer du Sein, Parlons en!

Thanks to all of you for your support, please if you to be a part of our adventure in Europe please contact the President of the association Lorene Carpentier

SITP NYC – Angels & Kings 11.11.08

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Hello again! What another amazing night for Keep A Breast’s Shot in the Pit presented by Fox and Unite the United. We are so thankful to be able to work with Rob Hitt to make this evening a success at this past Tuesdays party at Angels & Kings on Trainwreck Tuesday. The night was perfect! Everyone at the venue was very helpful and seemed excited about the exhibition and all that Keep A Breast does.
So many wonderful friends came out to show their support for the evening including our dear friend Will Noon from Straylight Run and Liz Nord from the MTV Choose or Lose campaign. We were stoked to have resident DJ’s Rob Hitt, Erica Dagley & Baya Voce keeping us dancing all night long! We only have one more event to go to close this exhibition…then we will be auctioning off breast casts and photographs of your favorite Vans Warped Tour bands. The auction will be online at www.kab.mfa.org from Nov. 26th – Dec. 6th. Please make sure to join us for the final closing party at Fox on Dec. 4th.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the road!

I wanted to give you a head’s up about a new web video campaign I have helped create. The project is for NARAL, and they are aiming to promote awareness of our reproductive rights. The first video, “Free”, is one in a three-part series featuring the young spoken-word artists – Shira Erlichman, Alvin Lau, and Deja Taylor – as well as renowned musician, DJ Spooky. This is the most innovative campaign to come from the pro-choice movement and it is especially powerful to hear these young artists say in their own words what free, will and power mean to them. I hope you’ll take a minute to check out the video and share the campaign with your friends and loved ones.

Sincerely,
Carol Martori
